This is a rare opportunity to hear Nicole interview leading writer Markus Zusak about his body of work and contribution to Australian literature and society.

Markus Zusak is the internationally bestselling author of six novels, including The Book Thief, Bridge of Clay and The Messenger. His books are translated into more than fifty languages, and have spent more than a decade on the New York Times bestseller list. They have also been adapted into films, plays and musicals throughout the world.

Anna Funder is the author of Stasiland (winner of the Samuel Johnson Prize) and All That I Am (winner of the Miles Franklin Award and many other prizes). Both books are international bestsellers published in 25 countries. Stasiland is being adapted for television, and All That I Am for a feature film.

His novels, short stories and memoirs have been widely translated and adapted for film and television. They have also won numerous prizes in Australia and abroad. The Drowner was voted one of the ten best international novels of the decade.

She is also a judge for the 2021 NSW Premier’s Literary Awards - The Christina Stead Prize for Fiction.
